Question:What is mail notification?
 
Answer:Mail notification events include controlled application visits to websites and product activation notifications. By recording controlled application access to websites, administrators can view and add website whitelists. After the product activation notification is turned on, the client will no longer prompt for activation information.

Step to enable Mail Notification.
1. In Curtain Admin, Click "File" > "Settings"



2. Check the "Enable Mail Notification" in Mail Notification tab.



3. Choose Mail Language and enter SMTP information in Mail Settings,


  • Mail Language : Logging languages include English, simplified Chinese and traditional Chinese.
  • SMTP server : SMTP server address.
  • Port : Default 25, optional SSL security protocol.
  • Mail : Email account, as the sender.
  • Password : Password of email account.

4. There are two events can be setup the mail notification. Double Click event to setup.



4.1 Protected application access websites

By default, administrator view activity log of access websites for each users in Curtain Audit Trail. However, it can be set via email notification to send these activity logs for specific recipients on a regular repeated time.

4.1.1 Checked and double click to setup


P.S. Before setting, refer to FAQ00270 and FAQ00271 to enable the exception website function.

4.1.2 Choose events, duration of send email in the "Settings" tab of dialog box.


  • Disallow access website : Record events where controlled applications access to websites are blocked
  • Allow website access : Record the events that have been set to allow controlled applications to access websites.
  • Mail Notification: Default every 60 minutes to automatic check dependent event and send email, detect the corresponding event and send an email to notify the recipient.

4.1.3 Click "Add" to add recipients in the "Recipients" tab.



4.2 Product Activation

For Curtain e-locker existing customers, product activation should be done at initial setup. And, the software has to be reactivated every year, for the purpose of license control. By default, in the activation 30 days before the expiration date. the software will start to prompt users every time when Curtain Client is launched. Many users are easy to misunderstand and make an impact. It can setup a mail notification for specific recipients instead of prompt in Curtain Client.

4.2.1 Checked and double click to setup



4.2.2 By default used standard mail template, it also supported user-defined.


  • User-defined : Customizable email notification content, including subject and body. The default is not checked.
  • Other Settings :
    • Remain [ ] days for sending mail notification : It will send the mail notification Before specific days of expired days. The default is 30 days.
    • Resend mail notification - Every [ ] days for resending mail notification : By default, only send a mail notification of product activation once. Select the option can set a every specific days period to resending mail notification again. The default is 7 days.
4.2.3 Click "Add" to add recipients in the "Recipients" tab.
