Question:Fail to uninstall Curtain Client

Answer:Curtain e-locker has this problem in particular versions (e.g. 3260). This problem has been already fixed in later versions.

The Problem:
When users try to uninstall Curtain Client, the system will prompt the user to reboot the PC before uninstalling Curtain Client. However, the system still prompts the same message to the user even the PC has been rebooted.

The Reason:
Users do not have sufficient rights to delete some folders/files in Local Protected Directory.

How to fix this problem:
1. In Curtain Admin, create a new Control Policy Group and check "Disable Protection on protected zone" for this policy group.

2. Assign the PC (on which Curtain Client cannot be uninstalled) to this policy group.

3. In Curtain Client, click "Update Policy" button or restart Curtain Client, to make sure that the latest policy is applied. After that, users can directly access Local Protected Directory without Curtain Protection.

4. Launch Windows Explorer and go into Local Protected Directory (e.g. C:\ProtDir\David).

5. Make sure users have sufficient rights to delete folders/files in Local Protected Directory. Please grant sufficient rights to the users if needed.

6. Delete all folders and files in Local Protected Directory (please make sure that you have made a backup of useful files).

7. Reboot the PC and try to uninstall Curtain Client again.
