Question:Does Curtain e-locker affects Normal applications and files in Non-Protected Zone?

Answer:If the function of Protect First Draft is not enabled, Curtain e-locker does not affect Normal applications and files in Non-Protected Zone. Curtain ONLY controls unauthorized usages of files in Protected Zone. Users can work with files in Non-Protected Zone as usual.

For example, a user is allowed to edit MS Word documents in Protected Zone, but copying these documents out of the Zone is not allowed. Then the user can use MS Word to edit documents in Protected Zone. Only unauthorized activities are blocked by Curtain. For documents in Non-Protected Zone, the user can use MS Word to edit them without any controls.

P.S. for the function of Protect First Draft, please refer to FAQ 00072.
