Question:

How to set Screen Watermark ?

 
 
Answer:To prevent unauthorized capture of sensitive content via mobile phone photos or videos, Curtain e-locker can display a visible screen watermark as a security deterrent. This feature is known as the screen watermark.

The screen watermark feature offers two display modes::
  • Full Screen Watermark
  • Application Screen Watermark – administrators can choose to apply this either exclusively to e-locker Protected applications or to both Protected and Non-Protected applications.

Steps to define Screen Watermark:
1. Enable Screen Watermark function in Curtain Admin global settings.
2. Select display mode of screen watermark in a policy group
3. View the effect of "Screen Watermark" in Curtain Client.

Detailed steps of Screen Watermark:
Step 1. Enable the screen watermark function in Curtain Admin global settings.
1.1 Launch Curtain Admin, click "File"> "Settings"> "Screen Watermark".

1.2 Check the "Enable Screen Watermark" option



1.3 Click 'Add' (or 'Modify') to set screen watermark

1.4 Set the screen watermark parameters and click 'OK' to save the settings.


  • Color: Color of screen watermark
  • Font Size: Font size of screen watermark
  • Font: Font of screen watermark
  • Font Style: Text Style of screen watermark (Hollow or Solid)
  • Display Mode: Display mode of screen watermark (Tile or Center). When Tile is selected, the whole screen will be filled with screen watermark. If Center is selected, only one screen watermark will be shown in the center of screen.
  • Slope Angle: Slope angle of displaying screen watermark
  • Refresh Interval: Time interval for refreshing content of screen watermark
  • Horizontal Space: In Tile display mode, horizontal space of each screen watermark
  • Vertical Space: In Tile display mode, vertical space of each screen watermark
  • Transparency: Transparency for screen watermark
  • Text Content: Define content of screen watermark here
  • Text Parameter : Display [DateTime], [Hostname], [IP] and [UserName] in screen watermark
      • [DateTime]: Date and time
      • [Hostname]: Computer name
      • [IP]: IP address
      • [UserName]: Windows login username


Step 2. Select display mode of screen watermark in a policy group
2.1 In the Curtain Admin, Select the policy group, right-click and select "Properties".

2.2 Select display mode of screen watermark
- if you want to display Screen Watermark to both Protected and Non-Protected applications, go to Step 2.3 to continue.
- if you want to display Application Screen Watermark exclusively to e-locker Protected applications, go to Step 2.9 to continue.

2.3 In Screen Watermark tab, select "Enable Screen Watermark"
- if you want to display Full Screen Watermark, select "Full Screen Watermark", and then go to Step 2.6 to continue.
- if you want to display Application Screen Watermark, choose "Application Screen Watermark".



2.4 Click "Applications" button for enabling screen watermark for specific application(s).

2.5 Select application(s) which you want to display screen watermark.




2.6 Select the appropriate watermark preset from the "Screen Watermark Preset" drop-down menu.

2.7 Set the conditions for turning on Screen Watermark:
- if you want to display screen watermark all the time, select "Always Enable" and click OK to save the settings.
- if you want to display screen watermark in specific time slot, select "Enable When" and click "Add" button for adding time slot (multiple time slots are supported).



2.8 Enter time slot information and click OK. Proceed to Step 3 to view the effect.

2.9 In Protected Applications tab, double-click application(s) which you want to display screen watermark

2.10 Select "Screen Watermark" and click OK. Proceed to Step 3 to view the effect.



Step 3. View the effect of "Screen Watermark" in Curtain Client.
3.1 Rerun the Curtain client, and the client will obtain the latest security policy.

3.2 View the effect of Screen Watermark:

For example: open the protected Windows Media Player, and check the screen watermark.

For example: open Notepad, and check the screen watermark.
