Recommended procedures for applying Curtain e-locker Patch

 
 
Answer:Recommended procedures for applying Curtain e-locker Patch:
1. Upgrade Curtain Admin and Curtain Server Plug-in
- Backup Policies and Audit Trail in Curtain Admin first (refer to FAQ No. 00127)
- Run appropriate AdminPluginPatch (e.g. AdminPluginPatch_x64(xxxxxx).exe) on Curtain Admin and Server Plug-in
- Reboot the server.

Note: The Curtain Admin and Curtain Server Plug-in versions must be the same.

2. Upgrade some selected Curtain Clients for pilot run
- Backup all the data in Local Protected Directory of the Curtain Clients first. You can upload the data to Protected share folder in file server or use the function of "Encrypt Out" to backup the data to other locations.
- Run ClientPatch (e.g. ClientPatch(xxxxxx).exe) on the selected PCs. Then Curtain Client on those PCs will be updated after reboot.
- Users can try the updated Curtain Clients for a period of time. When they feel comfortable to the new installed build, administrator can upgrade all Curtain Clients.

3. Upgrade all Curtain Clients
- Run appropriate AdminPluginClientPatch (e.g. CurtainFullPatch(xxxxxx).exe) on Curtain Admin. Then all other Curtain Clients will be automatically updated when they connect to Curtain Admin next time.
- The Curtain Clients will finish the upgrade after reboot.
